Aaliyah was never able to have a family dog growing up but always had a real passion for working with animals from a young age & started volunteering at her local animal shelters with her Grandmother when she was twelve years old. She continued to volunteer for almost 10 years before moving away from home. Aaliyah has done everything from outdoor rescue, to whelping puppies, to vaccine/spay & neuter clinics, to behavior evaluations, to assisting with adoption, and in addition has spent time working with large livestock such as goats and horses. She got her first personal dog, a Rottweiler, when she was 18 years old and immediately started to train him. That dog ended up being a fantastic working companion and opened the door for Aaliyah to be able to work with some of the Bay Area’s most recognized trainers, including “Cali K9” - rated the Bay Area’s number one dog trainer for many consecutive years, and known from the popular Netflix show ‘Canine Intervention’. As well as Dogz101, both training facilities have a 5-Star rating and countless reviews from happy clients and their pups. Working with high caliber trainers, she got into advanced obedience, and then into dog sports like PSA and Schutzhund in which she competes with her personal dogs at a National level.
